Flash CS5 is amazing in certain respects. One of my clients is in digital publishing and it works AMAZINGLY for their work, easily taking in-design files and making them immediately workable in flash. For animation there's really no improvements though so for the general NG public I would say skip it... Photoshop CS5 is pure magic though.
though im not impressed with flash THE REST OF THE SUITE IS AWESOME. I have the production premium because of all the filmmaking I do, and its so much better with all the new hardware acceleration. AND CONTENT AWARE IS A WET DREAM. AWESOMENESS :D

Our company got the choice to choose between Creative Suite 4 or Creative Suite 5.
We took a majority vote and get CS4... I do have CS5 personally though.
CS3 > CS5 > CS4 > 8 > MX04 > MX

suite wise, CS5 is definetly much better than CS4, shame u guys didnt get it. I haven't played much with cs3 either than flash so i dunt know how good the rest of the suite is.

Very true. However we still like to argue about the toys when they come out. I'm definitely not one of those animators that are awesome :(
I heard that you can't open Flash 8 documents with CS4 or CS5. When so many people use it then it's just not worth it if you're doing Collabs.
CS4 can open flash 8 files, but flash 8 cant open cs4 files. Im not sure of the case with CS5 though. I say if you're a collab leader, u should have the latest version of flash (even if its a trial so u can down convert newer files)

Macromedia Flash 8 Professional does everything I want it to do, it has a less clunky layout than future versions of Flash, and it loads faster :D
I sort of like the layout for CS4, its easier to customize in my opinion. However YES ITS GODDAMN SLOW >:(
